Stefano Riboli is based near Milan, Italy, where he has been working as a freelance illustrator since 1983. He works is mainly in the advertising field.

At the age of 20, whilst at university, he enrolled at the Istituto Europeo Di Design and realised that art was his true vocation. He started out using traditional media such as acrylics, oils and pencils, but more recently has been achieving exciting results working in digital formats.

When I started to paint pin-up I didn't want to create a sleazy style - I particularly like fresh innocent beauty and that's the main reason I paint pin-up

Says Stefano: "Early influences in my work were American Photorealist Painters such as Richard Estes and Ralph Goings. Other influences were Italian travel posters and advertising illustrators of the 30’s such as Boccasile e Mario Puppo. I've always enjoyed advertising and popular art. I'm also fascinated by vintage pin-up artists Alberto Vargas, Gil Elvgren and George Petty."

His list of clients is truly international stemming from across Europe, the USA and Japan and includes: Coca Cola, Wolkswagen, Levi's, Renault, Citroen, Alfa Romeo, Swatch, Ferrero, Philips, Danone, Sky, Microsoft, Nestlè, Shell, Perfetti Van Melle, Financial Times, Man's Health and the Sunstar Corporation Japan. Whilst working for Coca Cola, Stefano created modern versions of the traditional Santa Claus which were carried on product packaging all over the world.
